Browns Can Tie Record for Most Consecutive Road Losses This Sunday
“ProFootballTalk- The Cleveland Browns can get a dubious place in NFL history with a loss on Sunday.
If the Browns lose on Sunday at Cincinnati, it will be their 26th consecutive road loss. That will tie a record set by the Lions from 2007 to 2010. They could then break the record a week later at Houston.
The Browns are 0-4 on the road this year, they went 0-8 on the road in both 2017 and 2016, and they lost their last five road games in 2015. Their most recent win on the road was a 33-30 overtime victory at Baltimore in Week Five of the 2015 season.
Cleveland is a three-point underdog at Cincinnati on Sunday and will surely be an underdog at Houston in a week as well. So the Browns are going to need to pull off an upset to avoid joining and then surpassing that Matt Millen-built Lions team as the worst road warriors ever”
Boy oh boy the stakes have been raised. Cleveland is going to be fighting with all their power to keep from setting another embarrassing NFL record, while our Bengals try to do everything they can to keep their season from completely falling apart.
The Bengals have been shaken up lately, especially in our linebacking core with Preston Brown going to IR and Nick Vigil still being out. As for Burfict, I really don’t know what is going on but I’m guessing he’s not healthy. This makes me nervous, especially with the way that Nick Chubb has been carrying the ball lately. We’ll definitely need our defensive line, specifically Geno, to step up and shut down the run. It’s also huge for Dunlap to get to Baker as early and as often as possible, just to keep him from developing any type of groove.
As for the offense, maybe we’ll improve up front and Mixon will actually be able to have more than 14 rushing yards on 12 carries. It would also be huge if we could get AJ Green back from his toe injury, but I’m honestly not expecting to see him for another week.
If we lose to Cleveland this week, then you ultimately have to assume that our season is over and we’re not going to the playoffs. Let’s do everything we can to help Cleveland set this record so they can stay in their place as the laughing stock of the world.
