Ace’s Picks: College Football Week 5

Miami -18 vs UNC

I’m picking Miami to cover here, and it has nothing to do with how they are as a team. It has everything to do with how North Carolina is as a team (not very good).

Plus, N’Kosi Perry made his first career start last week and the guy’s a beast. Tonight may serve as a coming out party on a national stage.

West Virginia -4 vs Texas Tech

This game ultimately decides if West Virginia and Will Grier are the real deal or not. They travel into Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders, who have been on fire since losing to Ole Miss in week one. Will Grier very well could step up at some point this game and have a Heisman moment that could help him surpass Tua or Kyler Murray.

Oklahoma State -17.5 @ Kansas

Ok State got blown out and upset last week at home by Texas Tech. Expect Coach Gundy’s crew to come out and play with some vengeance. Plus it’s always fun betting against Kansas.

Texas A&M -21.5 vs Arkansas

Arkansas is the LOL school of the SEC, so expect plenty of blowouts to be coming their way this year. The Razorbacks have been blown out back-to-back games by North Texas and Auburn, and life doesn’t get any easier for them by traveling to Kyle Field to take on Kellon Mond and the Aggies.

Oklahoma -24 vs Baylor

I expect Baylor to just go 3 & out over and over and over and over and over, which means Oklahoma’s offense will be on the field for plenty of time. If Oklahoma’s offense is on field for plenty of time, then they’ll put up plenty of points.

Duke -4.5 vs Virginia Tech

With VT’s starting quarterback Josh Jackson out indefinitely, I think the Blue Devils win this game by double digits at home.

Ohio State -4 @ Penn State

It seems like Ohio State NEVER loses these big time regular season match-ups. It’s the little ones that end up screwing them over. Taking Ohio State to cover with a score late in the game.

BYU +17 @ Washington

This is the same team that went into Wisconsin and beat them as a 23-point underdog, and in my opinion Wisconsin is better than Washington. I don’t see BYU winning this one, but I see them covering with ease.

LSU -11.5 vs Ole Miss
