Ace’s Picks: College Football Week 4
College Football just hasn’t been our thing this year. Coming into Week 4, we’re 16-19 and 3-0 on our ML underdog picks. We need some dubs/W’s this week, and I got 9 games that will help us get back on track. Lets go.
Ole Miss -29 vs Kent State
Kent State is coming off a 53-point loss at Penn State, and Ole Miss is coming off a 55-point loss themselves. Ole Miss bounces back this Saturday, and their high powered offense leads us to the cover.
Miami -26.5 vs FIU
After being blown out by LSU in Week 1, Miami has bounced back and shown that they aren’t that bad of a team. FIU, led by Butch Davis, has played some solid football this year too. The U’s talent level just takes over and dominates this game. Miami easily by 4 touchdowns, but I’m expecting a 38 point+ win.
West Virginia -16 vs Kansas State
Will Grier gonna be out there tossing that pigskin around like you ain’t never seen before, bubby. Milan Puskar Stadium is going to be rocking for the ‘Neers, and the environment and explosive offense will be too much for Kansas State and Bill Snyder to handle.
It’s Friday, so lets have a quick jam session.
South Carolina -2.5 @ Vanderbilt
South Carolina hasn’t taken the field since Georgia murdered them since their game against Marshall was canceled. Vanderbilt went to Notre Dame last week, and only lost by 5 in a close game. I think that since South Carolina has been off for a week, and they’ve really let that humiliating blowout against Georgia sink in, they’ll come out with something to prove this game and take care of business. The deciding factor for the Gamecocks this week though all comes down to the play of their quarterback, Jake Bentley. As long as Bentley is on his A-Game, South Carolina should win by at least a touchdown. If Bentley comes out and plays like Doggy Shit, then expect Vanderbilt to win by 10+.
Syracuse -28 vs UConn
I’m all in on this Syracuse offense. I’m also all in on UConn sucking. If you aren’t aware of how bad UConn is, then let me educate you.
Week 1: Loss, 17-56 vs UCF
Week 2: Loss, 7-62 @ Boise State
Week 3: Win, 56-49 vs Rhode Island.
Giving up 49 against an FCS school isn’t the best look, especially to an offense that’s put up numbers like Syracuse. Go Orange.
TCU -3.5 @ Texas
TCU choked one away last week against Ohio State. Texas defeated USC pretty easily, but I think we all agree that USC isn’t that great. TCU’s going to come out ready to play after letting the OSU game slip away, and you know they’re fired up after a lot of people have called them a roster of “Texas Rejects”. I like TCU by 2-3 scores this weekend.
Kentucky +9.5 vs Mississippi State
I really wanted to pick the UK moneyline, but I know that they’re just going to find a way to lose this game. Kentucky still has enough talent to keep this game close, and they also have the home field advantage. But I just have a gut feeling that a late turnover on offense or penalty on defense will cost them this game. Mississippi State by a field goal.
LSU -21 vs Louisiana Tech
LSU is 3-0 this year and 2-0 against Top 25 schools. In their other win that wasn’t against a Top 25 school, they shut out their FCS easy win opponent. It doesn’t really matter how LA Tech has been playing this year, because LSU is just going to easily dominate tomorrow night. Geaux Tigers.
Stanford -2.5 @ Oregon
THIS IS THE GAME that gets the Bryce Love for Heisman campaign back on track. Stanford will start the game by going to their play-making wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside. After JJAW makes a few plays to spread Oregon’s defense out, then that’s when the Bryce Love show starts. Expect a 150+ yard and 2 touchdown performance. Oregon’s offense will put up numbers early on, but Stanford’s defense will hold in the 2nd Half. Stanford wins 28-24.
