The Mets Will Show a Matt Harvey Tribute Video Before Tonight’s Game

Harvey used to be one of the best pitchers in the league. His 2013 and 2015 seasons catapulted him into the conversation of being the best pitcher in the world. He was the Mets savior. Harvey was their Dark Knight.

And then, life happened. People get hurt all the time. Shit happens. It sucks. Harvey was losing a grip on his career. It didn’t help that Mets fans started hating him and basically turned their back on him, even though he was one of the main reasons the franchise was even relevant for a little while.

The start of the season for Harvey was disastrous, and he posted a 7.00 ERA with the Mets. Thankfully, my beloved Reds swooped in and basically saved his career. Since joining Cincinnati, Harvey has a 5-5 record and a 4.79 ERA. Not amazing, but much better than the shit he was throwing out in New York.

I’m sure all eight fans at Citi Field will enjoy the Matt Harvey tribute tonight. Maybe they’ll show his 2015 World Series Game 5 highlights when he struck out nine through 8+ innings (and still lost, total Mets move).
