Fan Impersonated Employee to Add Pac-12 Network to Restaurant’s Cable Package

Fox News- A die-hard basketball fan has been charged with a felony after allegedly posing as a restaurant employee and adding the Pac-12 network to the restaurant’s service – all so he could watch an Arizona Wildcat’s game while dining out.
Kevin M. Cayton has been accused of making 12 different phone calls to the cable provider used by Lake Delton, Wisc., restaurant Buffalo Phil’s, and pretending to be an employee in order to add the premium channels to the eatery’s cable package.
Cayton, a finance manager at an Illinois car dealership, was reportedly going to be traveling in Lake Delton for the weekend and did not want to miss the Wildcat’s basketball game, Baraboo News Republic reported.
Buffalo Phil’s caught onto the scheme after noticing their monthly cable bill had gone up. The restaurant’s manager contacted their cable provider and realized someone had been impersonating their employees. A manager contacted authorities about the situation, SB Nation reported.
The 51-year-old was arrested and charged with felony identity theft for financial gain and unauthorized use of an entity’s identifying information. Cayton faces up to 12 years in prison if found guilty, SB Nation reported.”

Well, you gotta respect the hustle. The whole reason that you go out to eat on game day is to watch the game while enjoying some delicious food. Maybe a beer or two. But nothing in the world is more disappointing than when the restaurant isn’t playing the game you want.

You have an option in this situation. You get your waiter/waitress’ attention, and you politely ask if they can put the game of your liking on one of the TV’s.

“Sure! One second.”

Then, all is good in the world. Only for you to have your hopes and dreams crushed just a few moments later.

“Sir, I’m sorry. But we don’t have that channel.”

There’s an old saying that goes something like this. “If you want something done, then do it your damn self.”

In this world, there’s Doers and there’s Don’ters. Kevin Cayton is a Doer. Kevin Cayton remained calm. He remained poised. He remained focused. He knew what he had to do, so he went out and did it.

I’m sure it was a must watch game for his Arizona Wildcats. All he wanted to do was cheer on Money Bags Ayton in front of everyone, and rub it in their face that his team was better than theirs.

Unfortunately, whatever is done in the dark will always come to light.

I’m not really sure how they were able to pin this on Kevin Cayton. Maybe they went back and reviewed the security footage and saw that he was the only one using their phone. Maybe he was calling from his cell phone to impersonate an employee, and then they just tracked his number back to him.

Whatever it is, don’t give my boy 12-years. Just make him pay the difference of what it would have cost normally compared to the package with Pac 12 Network, and go on with your lives. Or just stop being so cheap, and get all the sports packages so you can satisfy your customers and all their needs.
