MLB ALL-STAR GAME MEMORIES: Reggie Sends One 520 Feet

Over the next few days, we’ll be looking at some of our favorite MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby Memories. Today we checkout Mr. October get a hold of one, sending it 520 feet back in 1971.

Five Hundred Twenty Feet…that’s pretty far. I bet Dock Ellis wishes he had some LSD for this at-bat.

We didn’t actually get to see this ball travel 520 feet. That’s just an estimation for how far it would have been. Unfortunately, its momentum stopped when it crashed into a transformer attached to one of the light towers on the Tiger Stadium roof.
