Hall of Fame Won’t Mention Terrell Owens at Induction Ceremony

“Sporting News- There will not be any mention of Terrell Owens during the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in August.
In fact, the Hall of Fame is excluding Owens from the event entirely, according to executive director Joe Horrigan.
“The focus is on the guys who are here,” Horrigan told Talk of Fame Network. “There’s no reason to bring him up as an individual. He’s not here.”
Owens will have to wait a little longer to get his gold jacket as well. Players typically receive their gold jackets at Friday’s Gold Jacket dinner that will happen Aug. 3, but the Hall of Fame will instead mail Owens’ gold jacket to him the following day.
Last month Owens announced his intention to pass on the induction ceremony to do things his way in typical T.O. fashion. He unveiled plans to host his own Hall of Fame ceremony at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.”

NFL and the Pro Football Hall of Fame is basically playing the same game as Terrell Owens.

“Oh, Terrell, you wanna subliminally tell us to go fuck ourselves by not coming to the ceremony we’re having for you? Alright, then we’ll just subliminally tell you to go fuck yourself by not even talking about you.”

I’m with the Pro Football Hall of Fame on this. Why should they do anything for you if you’re not going to do anything for them? The Hall of Fame has a great class this year, highlighted by Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Brian Dawkins, and Brian Urlacher. Why would the Hall of Fame waste their breath on a guy that doesn’t feel like he needs to show up for his Hall of Fame ceremony? Instead of wasting their time on TO, they’re going to put their full focus on properly honoring the former players that did show up. Nothing wrong with that.

TO, you don’t like it? Then show up and do something about it.
