All-Star Game Memories: Pete Rose Barrels over Ray Fosse

Over the next few days, we’ll be looking at some of our favorite MLB All-Star Game and Homerun Derby Memories. For today’s memory, let’s checkout Pete Rose destroying Ray Fosse in the 12th-inning of the 1970 All-Star Game.

I was born in 1997, so I don’t know if this can qualify as a memory for me. But this is definitely one of my favorite sports stories of all-time.

This is an All-Star game. A fucking EXHIBITION. And here is Pete Rose aka “Charlie Hustle” going balls to the wall to pick up the W.

Pete Rose has always been my idol, and it has nothing to do with gambling. It has everything to do with the way he played the game of baseball. You never saw the guy loaf, or even take a day off. When you came to the ballpark, you were paying to see PETE ROSE. Sure, there was Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Dave Concepcion, George Foster, Tony Perez, Ken Griffey, and Cesar Geronimo. The Great Eight. But they were led by Peter Edward Rose. This guy would probably kill his parents if it meant he was going to win a ball game. Pete always came out with a “win now, ask questions later” mentality, and I’m proud to say that I do the same every single day when I come to

I login on the computer, I strap it up, and I churn out post after post after post for all you fans out there worldwide. I’ll run over a catcher if I have to. I’ll become the all-time views leader if I have to. I’ll be banned from blogging for compromising the integrity of the internet if I have to. You know why? Because just like Pete Rose, I’m a winner. And we don’t care what nun’ y’all got to say about it.
