Oregon State Wins the CWS
The superior team all season long was the superior team in the final series of the year. Literally down to their last strike in game 2, the Beavers took advantage of a Razorback blunder in a missed pop up, and won the game. Freshman pitcher Kevin Abel was the story of the whole college work series. He set a record for wins (4) and fewest hits allowed in a championship game (2). Abel threw 128 pitches last night in an all time great pitching performance. It was quite a way for leader and 4th overall pick Nick Madrigal to end his career. Sophomore catcher Rutschman went 17-30 in Omaha with 5 extra base hits and had an incredible tournament behind the plate. The Beavers finished the year 55-12.
