New York Yankees Series Review: Mariners

Wow. Just wow. This team continues to amaze me. Yanks sweep the Mariners, and hit 8 homers in the 3 game series. The Yanks reach 50 wins.

Game 1 showed off the Yankee bats (duh).Stanton, Andújar, Hicks, and Torres all left the yard in the Yankees 7-2 victory. Domingo German has toed the rubber in his last two starts and looked like a different beast. Tuesday night Domingo looked incredible. 7 innings, No walks, 1 Earned, 2 Hits, 9 K’s. A.J. Cole finished the game with 2 innings of perfect relief, with 3 K’s. If German can get his control down, he will be amazing. A left hook with Sevy, and then a right jab with German will knock out any 3 game series. Marco Gonzales was credited with the loss, and was pretty hot coming into the game with a record of 7-3. 48-22

Game two was filled with drama. Jonathan Loaisiga made his 2nd career start coming off of a nice performance last week, and got roughed up. Lasting just 3 2/3 innings, giving up 3 earned, and Chasen Streve coming in and giving up 2. The Yankees found themselves down 5-0 until the bottom of the fifth. Judge singled and brought in Andújar, and Hicks on an error. Didi would later hit a sac fly in the seventh, and then Sanchez hit a two run bomb in the eighth to tie it. Then Giancarlo Stanton happened. 2 run walk off ding dong. Chapman with the win. 49-22.

Game three was more of the same offensively for the Yankees. Stanton and Andújar both went deep for 2 run blasts to power past the Mariners. Luis Severino threw 5 2/3 innings and struck out 5. Not his usual self, but got the job done. Chapman earned his 22nd save of the year. 50-22.
