New York Yankees MiLB Update

The slugging New York Yankees are tearing it up in the big leagues ranked #1 in slugging percentage, and 2nd in on base percentage, while having the best record in all of baseball with a 43-19 record. But we’ll be looking at the Yanks farm system and how they’re fairing.

Charleston Riverdogs (A) – ^ in 133 at bats, CF Pablo Olivares is batting a whopping .338 with a .414 OBP, while RF Steven Sensley leads the team in long balls with 8. Dalton Lehnen seems to be the “Ace” for the Riverdogs going 5-3 with a 2.58 ERA and 61 strikeouts on the year. Charleston is currently 5th in the South Atlantic League with a 31-32 record.

Trenton Tarpons (A Adv.) – Right Fielder Alexander Palma is leading the charge for the Tarpons batting .308 in 172 at bats, with 6 long balls. 1B Brandon Wagner has left the yard 11 times, and has an on base percentage of .336. Adonis Rosa is scorching for the Tarpons with a record of 6-1 with a 3.51 ERA. Nick Green is also 5-2, and David Sosebee is 4-2. Jonathan Loaisiga just went 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA, and is going to make his MLB debut for the Yankees Friday at home against the Rays. Trenton is currently 3rd in the Florida State League North division with a 34-31 record.

Trenton Thunder (AA) – ^ SS Abiatel Avelino is carrying a .326 average with 5 homers in 129 AB’s. RF Jhalan Jackson has went deep 11 times for the Thunder and Trey Amburgey 8. Stephen Tarpley is 4-0 with a 1.75 ERA in relief. Jonathan Loaisiga went 3-1 here. Erik Swanson has been lights out, posting a 5-0 record and just a .44 ERA with 52 punch outs. The Thunder are 2nd in the Eastern League Division with a 37-25 record.

Scranton-Wilkes Barre (AAA) – OF Clint Frazier, who would probably be a platoon guy, if not a starter on almost any other MLB roster, is hitting .328, Brandon Drury is hitting .313, 3B Bruce Caldwell is batting .303. 1B Mike Ford leads the Rail Riders in home runs with 8 with outfielders Ryan McBroom and Billy Mckinney adding on 7 each. The pitching isn’t the greatest in Scranton, with Josh Rogers having 5 wins, but also 5 losses. Not correct math, but from glancing at the stats, i would say the team ERA is over 4. The Rail Riders are 4th in the International League North Division with a 30-33 record.

Overall the Yankees minor league teams aren’t tearing up the competition as a whole, but as you can see there are a few individuals that are separating themselves from other prospects. It’s a sure fact that unless traded, the Yankees will not need to make a move for outfielders for years to come. Watch for some of these youngins’ to get the call shortly.
