Kings Stay Kings, Waffle House Bullies IHOP out of Business (Sort of)
IHOP has announced that they have changed their name to Ihop, which stands for the International House of Burgers. And the only explanation for this is because they finally came to their senses and realized that they can NEVER beat Waffle House. For starters, Waffles > Pancakes so that already put IHOP at a disadvantage. IHOP lacked the customer service/southern hospitality that Waffle House was able to provide, whether it is 3 AM on a drunk night or the hangover visit the next day (the only time you go to Waffle House is when you’re intoxicated or getting over being intoxicated), so another point of Waffle House.
IHOP realized that they could never overcome/outdo Waffle House in these two categories, so they decided to maybe try to take the points in the food quality section of the competition. And what’s almost as good as breakfast food? Burgers. But it’s hard to try to transition from being a breakfast food place into being a burger joint. I just don’t know if I can trust Ihob yet, and you ultimately have to give them almost a month before they get their burger process going in full rotation before you can judge the food quality. I just can’t see them overthrowing Waffle House in the food quality section (greasy hangover cure breakfast can’t be beat), but I guess we’ll eventually see.
In the meantime, RIP IHOP. You won’t be missed.
