Ace’s Picks of the Day: 6/11/2018
Red Sox -132 and -1.5 (+120) @ Orioles
Daily Boston pick even though they’ve lost for me the past two times after I picked them. Boston’s coming off their first series loss in almost two months after losing 2 out of 3 against the White Sox, and I’m hoping they’ll pull their heads out of their asses tonight against the Orioles, who just got swept in a 4 game series by Toronto. Steven Wright takes the mound tonight, and he’s given up only 4 runs in his 23 innings on the season. Wright’s coming off a 7 inning shutout against the Tigers, and here’s to hoping that he stays hot.
Giants -180 and -1.5 (-120) @ Marlins
Bumgarner wasn’t too bad in his first start of the year against the D-Backs, going 6 and giving up 2. He wasn’t able to get any run support though, and he took the L. I believe Bumgarner will be dominate tonight in Miami, and he’ll actually get the run support he needs due to Wei-Yin Chen’s struggles.
Cardinals -186 and -1.5 (EVEN) vs Padres
St. Louis returns from Cincy after losing yesterday (not too brag or anything), and Jack Flaherty takes the mound after struggling in his last outing against the Marlins. Flaherty has had a great season so far though, and I expect him to bounce back after his last struggling start. Jordan Lyles gets the start after giving up 8 in 4.1 innings after his last start against the Braves, and I’m taking the Cardinals lineup over San Diego’s.
Pirates +125 @ Diamondbacks
I need an upset pick for today, so I’m taking Joe Musgrove and the Pirates. Musgrove has given up only 4 ER through his 19 innings of work this season. He faces a good D-Backs lineup who has Patrick Corbin on the mound tonight, who has been great this season as well. But like I said, I need an upset pick.
