Sunday Night Baseball – Red Sox vs Astros
On a night of a primetime matchup, the Red Sox are plagued by injury. They are without potential MVP, Mookie Betts and also long time second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Betts was placed on the 10-day DL, as was Pedroia. The Houston Astros are as healthy as ever and are loaded at every position. IMO, the Stros have the best pitching staff in the league and should repeat as champs. I just don’t think when it comes playoff time, that anyone can compete with them. I know it’s early but they are just insane.
Right Hander Rick Porcello will take the hill for the Red Sox and Charlie Morton will be throwing for Houston. Porcello this season is 7-2 with a 3.65 ERA. He’s 1-1 with a 5.49 career ERA against the Astros. Morton is tearing it up this season with a 7-0 record and a 2.26 ERA. My pick tonight, as well as my world series pick, is Houston. I think Morton will attack the shorthanded Sox and make quick work of them. Since this is on the same night as Game 2 of the finals, I’m sure not as many people will be watching as they normally would. Nonetheless, it will be a great baseball game.
