Ace’s Picks of the Day: 6/1/2018

Happy June. I have a feeling we might win every bet this month. Here’s baseball’s slate for the day.

Yankees -178 @ Orioles

Tanaka is coming into the game with a 4.62 ERA but a 6-2 record, showing that the Yankees are able to give their rotation a whole lot of run support (duhhh). Gausman comes in for the Orioles with a similar ERA of 4.31, but only a 3-4 record. I feel I just have to pick which lineup I prefer in this matchup, so I’m going with the Yankees.

Twins +105 vs Indians

A very similar pitching matchup today between Berrios and Carrasco, but I’m just following some trends I saw. Indians are 2-5 vs RHP on the road (sabermetrics!) and the Twins are 13-3 in Berrios last 16 home starts.

Brewers -145 @ White Sox

Anderson struggled his last outing vs the Mets, so I expect him to bounce back tonight against a shitty White Sox team. I might go heavy on this game, but that means I’ll probably lose. We’ll see.

Diamondbacks -145 vs Marlins

The Marlins have the worst offense in the league while Clay Bucholz has given up only 2 runs in his 11 innings of work so far after his 2 starts. The wheels will eventually fall off for Bucholz, but it won’t happen against this terrible Marlins lineup.
